Devine | Co-Design with Us: BCcampus Open GenAI Study Companion in the Making
Join us for this interactive session as we explore the
BCcampus Open GenAI project funded by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
This is a three-year initiative focused on creating an AI-powered study
companion that draws from the BCcampus OER collection. This tool will be
designed to support student learning through various approaches, including
dialogic learning methods.
In this session, attendees will gain insight into the goals
and design principles of the Open GenAI project. Through a facilitated design
conversation, attendees will engage with three design provocations:
- pedagogical
principles for integrating artificial intelligence into post-secondary
education;
- ethical
considerations in this setting; and
- processes
and frameworks to support capacity building.
These conversations will help to inform tool development and
implementation and are part of a research project sharing the learning from
this work back to the larger community. This interactive session is designed to
foster an environment of openness, curiosity, and sharing of diverse
perspectives on the use of AI in teaching and learning.
