Entertainment: Art Therapy Bi-lateral Drawing Session
Presenter: Shauna Kaendo
Stream: Entertainment
In this session we're going to briefly explore Bi-lateral Drawing, as a simple creative practice - that you can incorporate into your day-to-day. And also helpful in unfolding/integrating post-conference!
Bi-lateral drawing is a great tool and resource for accessing and connecting our (whole) brain and body… through rhythm, repetition, and movement. To let go of worrying about WHAT we're making, and just MAKE marks. To get out of our (over) thinky brains a wee bit, and more connected to our bodies. This practice is a way that we can express & explore what we’re feeling – release it, give shape to it… and texture, and colour. It’s a place to put it, and sit with it, without needing to intellectualize it. Without needing to make sense of it. But instead just allowing ourselves to feel what we feel. To get it out, work it out, soothe and calm ourselves.
This is something that you can do OFTEN, as part of a self (and collective) care practice ...with and without guidance, alone or in community.
